Any hints on how to get MWM running as a window manager for GNOME? I`m having trouble keeping it up. |

MWM on GNOME?
That`s an easy one, go to gnome control center and set the default window manager

Heh... Have you tried that? Trust me, I wouldn`t have posted if it was that easy.
When I do that, it starts, but then quickly goes away again for some reason. I did get it to stay running once, but when I tried logging back in, it didn`t start with GNOME.
I`m guessing MWM doesn`t like GNOME for some reason, but I`m wondering if it`s fixable.

I think I just figured it out.
MWM would die whenever I would save my GNOME session. I set up the MWM option in control panel to not be session managed, and it looks like it`s working now.

Like i said, maybe you had some old Lesstif libs around... OpenMotif`s MWM crashes if they`re around and any app tries to open them
BTW. How about making a contest for best Motif-created desktop? )))
BTW2. An idea for a project, have you guys heard of MUI, it`s a very interesting Amiga project for creating environment where user can decide of shapes, outlook, color, backgrounds of widgets...
As you know, Motif has such abilities, how about creating a resource manager for it? (Why don`t i do it? I`m too lazy for creating new code)

...oww, mine WAS actually session managed... Believe or not, it wasn`t working at all (needed to load it manually) other way...
