The cut, copy and paste features of XmText widgets do not work when running Open Motif-based apps under Gnome on Fedora Core 5 and 6. The same applications work fine under KDE on the same platforms and also via a remote X server. Specifically, under Gnome on FC5/6, XmTextCut, XmTextCopy and XmTextPaste all return True results but no text gets pasted when XmTextPaste is called. The same thing happens with both OM2.2 and 2.3. The same applications work fine under KDE or via a remote Windows-based X server, when running apps on FC5/6. They also work fine under earlier versions of Gnome running on earlier Fedora releases. Also, the problem isn't specific to Fedora. An end-user of our software reports the same problem on Ubuntu. Our Gnome set-up is using the installation defaults. The virtual bindings seem OK The only info I've been able to find is another Motif user who says that killing gnome-settings-daemon provides a fix, albeit an ugly one. I can't even get this to work, as gnome-settings-daemon just keeps restarting. In any event, it looks therefore like the problem is in Gnome. Unfortunately, a posting by the same user on the Gnome forum attracted zero replies. Does anybody know how to stop Gnome from screwing up the XmText widget clipboard handling? |

Really, I had same issue earlier, but now I am using openmotif 2.3.1 and all works nice.
Try to update, probably it will help you.
